Two little boys used to share a single room, however, with time, as it is often the case with teenagers, they both started to long for their own empires. Relatively easily, with the installation of a plasterboard wall and a front door, their dream came true.

Because this was a low-budget project, I covered the old floorboards with a soft fitted carpet. I had the desks and beds made reusing materials from the house. Also, I took the swivel armchair from the living room that was no longer needed there. Only the battery wardrobes and the lamps are newly purchased.

One of the rooms is home to the world of Harry Potter. The wall sticker, the giant poster, and the ceiling lamp help to take the owner of the small room into the tale. The other room is an empire of music. The drum kits fit just well on the podium, and the flickering coloured lights of the LED strip glued to the bed create the gig atmosphere.

The white walls of both rooms provide an excellent backdrop for the dark brown-stained beams, matching the grey-white storage cabinets. The larger room looks good with the bold, bright green ceiling painting.
