My former office was a bit cramped – the time had come for me to change to a bigger one. Now, in my new studio I’ve got several rooms: an office with two workstations and a children’s corner, a separate meeting room, a kitchenette, bathroom and a spacious foyer.

To achieve this, first I had to modernise the entire floor, as well as the complete heating system and insulation of the basement apartment of poor condition which had earlier been here. I renovated the parquet, and I put durable vinyl floors in the other rooms. The heat is provided by the wall panels – I decided to keep the tile stove “just” for the sake of design.

My principle was sustainability, so I didn’t buy any new furniture. I transferred the furniture set I’d had in my old office plus I looked around in the attic to see if there was anything I could (re)use. That’s how the chairs and tables from the flea market found their way here, along with the used couch and kitchenette. My favourite pieces, the „retro pille seats”, which I had collected from a garbage disposal, complement the set well.
