The owner of this family house was longing for fresh colours in her outdated home. This project is one of my favourites as I had the opportunity to work with the beloved beach house style.

I added colours to the palette which recall the tranquillity of the seaside. In the living room, the old dark laminate floor was replaced by an elegant, light-coloured stone slab; I highlighted the walls of the dining room and the hall with seagrass wallpaper. The bathroom and sink were accented with new, floordeck-style tiles.

I designed custom-made storage pieces for each room in the house. In the living room and dining area, I designed low drawer cabinets that stand on graceful metal legs and have a boat rope handle. The material of the furniture is light oak, recalling the colour of driftwood. The light blue linen sofa cover, the natural linen curtains and seashell ornaments are all meant to revoke the seaside. I selected the shell-shaped dining chairs and the two imposing wicker armchairs on purpose, as well as the special wallpaper and the water-blue-turquoise composition of the bedroom.

Following the special request of my client, however, the dressing room is different and feminine in appearance. I chose floral wallpaper and a romantic dressing table for this room. The custom wardrobes and drawers are made of white furniture board, and I added jewellery handles on them. In the upstairs meditation room, again, the tranquillity of the sea determines the layout. I arranged soft vinyl floor in this space so that one can comfortably practice yoga and relax on the floor.
